As part of the implementation of the “Shelter” program, the Ministry of Reintegration submitted information on the payment of compensation for October this year. The total amount of compensation will amount to more than 107.6 million hryvnias.
It is about reimbursing the cost of utility services to 90,337 homeowners who sheltered 239,000 internally displaced persons free of charge.
To take part in this program, you need to register on the “Shelter” website and place an ad about providing temporary housing to internally displaced persons.
It should be noted that under the “Shelter” program compensation for communal services in the amount of about 450 hryvnias per month (14.77 hryvnias per day) is provided for the free accommodation of one IDP.
Currently, such payments are made at the expense of the Red Cross Society of Ukraine. At the same time, the Ministry of Reintegration continues to work on attracting international donors to finance the “Shelter” program. And there are already agreements on the allocation of funds for this program by the UNHCR Office in the first half of 2024.
