In 2023, the German Government allocated 50 million euros to improve the housing conditions of IDPs

It is about the project “Improving the housing conditions of internally displaced persons in the east of Ukraine”.

It is implemented by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) with the assistance of the Ministry of Reintegration and the support of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany (BMZ) through the Credit Institution for Reconstruction (KfW).

The goal of the initiative is to strengthen the capacity of the Government of Ukraine to provide internally displaced persons and vulnerable population with appropriate conditions through affordable long-term housing rental.

Within the scope of the project, construction/reconstruction of 24 objects (1,670 apartments) in Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Chernivtsi, Vinnytsia and Kyiv regions is provided.
