Households in Kharkiv, Kherson and Sumy regions are actively providing fuel wood

This was discussed during a special meeting chaired by Vice Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk.

The sources of timber supply in these regions are local budgets and assistance from international organisations.

Kharkiv region

As of mid-February, 30,581 households in 54 communities in Kharkiv Oblast need solid fuel. Of these, 27,186 have already received assistance. This is 89% of the total need.

Kherson region

According to the latest data, the need for solid fuel in the right-bank part of Kherson region is 18,634 households in 18 communities. So far, international organisations have confirmed their ability to meet the needs of 19,585 households.

Sumy region

Sumy UGA has identified 72,487 households in need of assistance. So far, 43,687 households have been provided with fuel wood directly or with funds to purchase it. That is 60% of the required amount.

In order to meet the need in some communities more quickly, international partners will transfer the in-kind form of assistance into financial aid.

The Vice Prime Minister thanked everyone for their fruitful work and called on local authorities and donors to speed up the pace of assistance to citizens.
