This was stated by Vice Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk during a live broadcast on Rada TV channel. She noted three international technical assistance projects on housing coordinated by the Ministry of Reintegration.
The first is the construction and reconstruction of housing with subsequent long-term lease at affordable prices. Its total cost is 72.1 million euros. These are 1670 apartments for about 6 thousand people.
The second is preferential loans for the purchase of housing at 3 percent per annum. During 2024, it is planned to provide 425 loans worth 17 million euros. The total amount of this project is 42.5 million euros.
The third is the construction and reconstruction of social housing for temporary residence of IDPs. This project worth 24.2 million euros will provide up to 700 apartments.
The official emphasized that in 2024 the total amount of these projects is almost 140 million euros. This is a total of 2,800 apartments, where up to 10,000 internally displaced persons will be able to live.
“We are working with the German government. These projects are really working, so they need to be scaled up. We appeal to the governments of partner countries and ask them to join us,” the Vice Prime Minister summarized.
