Algorithm for obtaining compensation when employing IDPs

An employer may receive compensation for labor costs when employing internally displaced persons during martial law on the terms of an employment contract, including part-time employment.

Compensation is provided in the amount of the minimum wage for each employed IDP. Currently, this amount is UAH 7100 per month (it will be increased to UAH 8000 starting April 1).

The maximum duration of compensation is 3 months from the date of employment of an IDP, and 6 months in case of employment of an internally displaced person with a disability.

In order to receive such compensation, there are four steps to take:

  • employ an IDP
  • submit an application;
  • wait for the results of the application review;
  • receive the funds.

It is worth noting that the employer may submit such an application no earlier than 5 calendar days, but no later than 6 months from the date of employment. This can be done by contacting the employment center or through the Diia portal .
