Applications to the Register of Losses for Ukraine are now open

The website of the Register of Damages Caused by the Aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine (RD4U) has announced the opening of applications for compensation for damages caused by Russian aggression.

The Register of Damages is the only international instrument for recording the damage caused by Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. It is also the first component of a compensation mechanism aimed at providing reparations to war victims.

The register will accept applications from individuals, businesses and the state of Ukraine for more than 40 categories of damage.

In particular, starting from 2 April 2024, applications will be accepted in one category – damage or destruction of residential property.

From the very first days, those who have filed a claim for damaged or destroyed property under the eRestoration programme, recorded the damage in the Register of Destroyed and Damaged Property and received an inspection report from the local authorities will be able to submit applications to the Register. But in a few weeks, every owner of a destroyed home, including those in the temporarily occupied territories, will be able to apply.

Other categories will be launched throughout the year. The categories of applications from people most affected by the war, as well as applications related to damage or destruction of Ukraine’s critical infrastructure, will open in a few months.

You can submit an application to the Register through the Diia mobile application. More information on the application procedure is available here.
