This was reported at a weekly meeting of the Coordination Headquarters for Ensuring the Rights and Freedoms of Internally Displaced Persons chaired by Vice Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk.
As part of the Shelter project, compensation for January 2024 was financed in the total amount of UAH 70 million. These funds were transferred to more than 73.6 thousand homeowners who accommodated internally displaced persons for free.
Since January of this year, compensation has been funded by the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR) under an agreement signed with the Ministry of Reintegration.
The Ministry of Reintegration has already provided UNHCR with the data to make the relevant payments for February, totaling UAH 76 million. The payments will be made to 71,000 people who have provided free accommodation for IDPs.
