On the instructions of Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal and in accordance with the order of Deputy Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk, the Ministry of Reintegration, together with other stakeholders, is developing a State Policy Strategy on Ensuring Housing Rights of Certain Categories of IDPs for the period up to 2027.
On Thursday, 18 April, the first meeting of the working group to develop proposals for the Strategy was held. The event was chaired by Deputy Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories Oleksiy Bruslyk.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Reintegration, Ukrfinzhytel, the State Agency for Youth and Sports, the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR), the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the Council of Europe Office in Ukraine, the Danish Refugee Council in Ukraine, the NGO “Public Holding “Group of Influence”, the CF “Right to Protection”, as well as other international and domestic charitable foundations and organisations.
During the event, the participants discussed the problematic issues that the Strategy aims to address. They agreed on organisational issues and a further work plan for the phased development of the main provisions of the draft Strategy.
“Implementation of the Strategy is one of our priorities. It will facilitate the provision of housing for IDPs and their integration into host communities. It will also facilitate the return from abroad of our fellow citizens who left their homeland due to Russian aggression,” said Oleksiy Bruslyk.
