Veterans and IDPs can get a grant to support microbusinesses

The international humanitarian organisation Help – Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe announces a grant competition for microbusiness owners in Kharkiv, Odesa, Mykolaiv regions and the city of Kyiv. This is stated on the organisation’s website.

The programme provides non-refundable financial assistance to craft businesses (carpentry, jewellery, pottery, etc.) or service businesses (cleaning, home maintenance, landscape services, fitness, beauty, etc.).

The winners of the competition will receive financial assistance of up to EUR 2,510 in the national currency of Ukraine (approximately UAH 105,000), as well as monitoring of the supported microbusinesses.

The following priority categories are eligible for the programme:

  • Displaced persons whose businesses were damaged during the hostilities.
  • Individuals and families directly affected by the conflict, including those whose businesses were damaged or destroyed.
  • Veterans (upon presentation of a certificate of participation in hostilities on the territory of Ukraine after 2014).
  • Women who were displaced as a result of the conflict and now live in another region or territory.
  • Women who are the head of the household because their husband is in the military, serving or has been injured.
  • Persons with disabilities with a confirmed disability status.

The application deadline is 31 May 2024.
