All citizens of Ukraine are entitled to a free prosthesis, not just military personnel or those affected by hostilities. This is stated on the Government portal.
The state guarantees the installation of high-quality prostheses and covers their maintenance.
You do not need to wait for a disability certificate to receive a prosthesis.
How and where to apply?
- If you are in a hospital, contact a social worker who is available in the medical institution.
If there is no social worker available, ask your doctor to invite an employee from the territorial office of the Social Protection Fund for Persons with Disabilities to help you submit your documents.
- Contact the nearest ASC, local social protection authority or territorial office of the Social Protection Fund for Persons with Disabilities.
- Submit documents online through the electronic cabinet of a person with a disability.
Required documents:
- passport of a citizen of Ukraine;
- registration number of the taxpayer’s account card;
- a certificate of the circumstances of the injury from the commander of the military unit (for the military);
- a conclusion on the need to provide persons with disabilities with auxiliary rehabilitation equipment;
- UBD certificate for the military (if available).
It is noted that by choosing prosthetics under the state programme rather than abroad, a person with a prosthesis can count on constant support from the prosthetic company.
