Attention! Scammers have become more active in social networks!

Fraudsters who mislead relatives and friends of our defenders have intensified their activities. They create fake pages on social networks, add real photos from exchanges or photos of officials, and sometimes even call and start asking for money in various ways.

The Coordination Center for the Treatment of Prisoners of War warns against this.

What can you do to avoid becoming a victim of fraud?

Do not provide your contacts to strangers, do not fill out forms on unknown social media pages, messengers or websites. If an attacker does not know about you, they will not be able to bother you.

Do not believe promises: strangers on the Internet will not search for your relatives or provide you with other services.

According to the Coordination Center, many fraudsters are already under investigation. In particular, thanks to citizens’ appeals. You can report fraud by contacting law enforcement agencies or the Coordination Center.

Remember that the search for your loved one is carried out professionally and free of charge by specialists of state-authorized bodies.

We remind you that you can inform the NIB about a person in enemy captivity by calling the hotline at: 16-48 or (044) 287-81-65 (for calls from abroad) or using other communication channels.
