Highlights for the week of 10 June – 16 June

An algorithm of actions has been developed to exempt owners of land plots with fortifications from taxation.

Ukraine will create a register of land potentially contaminated by explosive ordnance. Its launch will automate and accelerate the monitoring and planning of demining operations.

Ukrainian schools abroad need more textbooks. A special meeting chaired by Vice Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk discussed the allocation of more than 6,000 textbooks from the reserve fund for Ukrainian schools run by NGOs abroad.

The interagency meeting reviewed the implementation of projects of the Ukrainian Social Investment Fund. They discussed the reconstruction of houses for IDPs, the repair of outpatient clinics, and repairs to vocational education institutions and other social facilities.

In May, the hotlines of the Ministry of Reintegration received more than 34,000 calls.

The algorithm for granting combatant status needs to be improved. A meeting on veterans’ policy discussed possible steps to speed up the process.

The Cabinet of Ministers approves a draft law on Ukraine’s withdrawal from the agreement signed with Russia over its violation of international humanitarian law.

Deputy Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk made a working visit to Cherkasy region. She took part in the handover of apartments to Ukraine’s defenders, visited the Centre for IDPs and held dialogues with community representatives at the Communities to Veterans event.
