This issue was discussed at a meeting of the Evacuation Coordination Headquarters chaired by Vice Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk.
It was noted that the mandatory evacuation has been in place since August 2022. During this time, more than 197,000 people have been evacuated from the frontline areas. Among them are more than 24,000 children and about 7,400 people with disabilities.
Departures are made by daily trains from Pokrovsk to Dnipro, Lviv and Rivne region.
Upon arrival, evacuees receive financial assistance of UAH 10,800 per person from UNICEF and UNHCR.
They also receive humanitarian, legal and psychological assistance and free housing.
Special attention is paid to the forced evacuation of children together with their parents or legal representatives.
It currently covers 18 settlements. Since the start of these measures (7 April 2023), 3909 children have been evacuated.
