What types of cash assistance are provided by UNHCR for war victims?

UNHCR in Ukraine is implementing a cash assistance program for internally displaced persons and other categories of war-affected people.

Emergency cash assistance

Emergency financial support can help families who were forced to flee their homes or whose homes were damaged by shelling.

Financial assistance for repairs

This program is intended for people whose homes were destroyed as a result of Russian shelling. It provides financial support to enable people to repair their damaged homes and return to their places of residence.

Multipurpose cash assistance

For many IDPs or other war-affected people, UNHCR’s multipurpose cash assistance provides flexibility in meeting their needs. From food and clothing to rent and healthcare costs, it allows them to decide what is a priority in their situation.

As a reminder, on August 21, 2024, the Ministry of Reintegration and UNHCR signed a Memorandum of Support for Frontline Communities during the next winter period.
