Highlights for the week of September 9 – September 15

From 2022 to 2024, the Ministry of Reintegration allocated over UAH 1.4 billion in state aid to prisoners and their families. The Commission on establishing the fact of deprivation of personal freedom due to armed aggression against Ukraine continues to function within the Ministry of Reintegration. This year, the ministry anticipates additional funding for these initiatives.

The International Committee of the Red Cross, in collaboration with the Ministry of Reintegration, is actively preparing front-line communities for the autumn-winter period. Further details on the types of aid provided this year can be found in the article.

An additional 800 families have been selected by State Youth Housing to benefit from loans under the Ukrainian-German program “Residential Premises for Internally Displaced Persons.” These families will have the opportunity to purchase housing on credit at a competitive rate of 3% per annum.

Ukraine has  initiated a UN Security Council meeting in response to Russian shelling of Ukrainian civilian infrastructure.

Over 2,600 Ukrainians have expressed interest in joining the civil service personnel reserve in the de-occupied territories, with nearly 92% successfully enrolled.

Applications for financial assistance for the purchase of solid fuel will be accepted until September 25. This decision aims to ensure comprehensive support for vulnerable populations in frontline areas through the joint project of the UNHCR and the Ministry of Reintegration.

This week saw two prisoner exchanges. In the first, 49 Ukrainian men and women were freed from russian captivity, followed by the release of 103 defenders of Ukraine the following day.
