How to receive financial assistance from the state for those released from captivity and families of prisoners

The Commission for establishing the fact of deprivation of personal liberty as a result of armed aggression against Ukraine continues to work under the Ministry of Reintegration.

The Commission establishes the fact of captivity of military and civilians, including those already released from captivity. The Commission is composed of representatives of state bodies and specialised NGOs.

After the Commission establishes the fact of deprivation of personal liberty, the Ministry of Reintegration pays a one-time state financial assistance of UAH 100,000 to persons released from captivity.

The Ministry also pays an annual state allowance of UAH 100,000 for each year of captivity to former prisoners of war or family members of those still in captivity.

To receive these state benefits, you need to apply to the Ministry of Reintegration. The algorithm of actions and the list of required documents can be found here.

A sample application for establishing the fact of deprivation of personal liberty as a result of armed aggression against Ukraine is available here, and an application for state financial assistance is available here.
