IDPs and other vulnerable groups can get help to prepare for winter

As part of the initiative, in-kind assistance or financial support will be provided through local branches of the Caritas charitable organization in Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia, Kramatorsk, Odesa, Ivano-Frankivsk, Nadvirna, Drohobych, Kolomyia, Stryi, and Sokal. This is stated on the Caritas Ukraine website.

The program provides various types of assistance:

– In Dnipro, solid fuel and financial assistance for utility bills will be distributed.

– In Zaporizhzhia, solid fuel will be distributed, as well as financial assistance for utilities and repairs in temporary accommodation centers (TACs). More than 10 TACs in the region will receive assistance for a comfortable winter.

– Kramatorsk and Odesa will be provided with solid fuel only.

– In Ivano-Frankivsk, Nadvirna and Drohobych, seven TACs will be provided with solid fuel and heating systems.

– In Kolomyia, residents of three CCs will be provided with solid fuel, and in Stryi – two CCs.

– In Sokal, residents of one TAC will be provided with heating systems.

Such support will be available to IDPs and local residents who have lost their jobs or whose income is no more than UAH 6,318 per person per family. Other vulnerability criteria will also be taken into account.

Registration of households for winterization assistance has already begun. It will be provided with the support of the Humanitarian Fund for Ukraine.
