A modular town for IDPs opened in Zhytomyr region

It was built in the village of Veresy with the financial support of the Italian Red Cross. This was reported by the Zhytomyr Regional State Administration.

The keys to the apartments were given to 55 families who were forced to move to the region.

These are families from Donetsk, Luhansk, Kharkiv, Kherson, Mykolaiv, Zhytomyr, Zaporizhzhia, and Crimea. Among them are military families, families with many children and people with disabilities, as well as families whose homes were destroyed by the enemy.

In total, 56 houses were built in the town. They are designed to accommodate 155 people.

Each house has two bedrooms, a studio kitchen and a bathroom. The premises are equipped with boilers, air conditioning, and showers. There are also shelters on the territory.

According to Oleksiy Kuleba, Vice Prime Minister for Reconstruction of Ukraine and Minister of Communities and Territories Development, the construction of a residential complex for IDPs is currently underway in Zhytomyr region with EU support. By June 2025, four apartment buildings with 116 apartments are planned to be built.
