The initiative aims to support vulnerable households affected by the armed conflict. In particular, internally displaced households or those who have returned home after displacement.
The programme is implemented by the Estonian Refugee Council (ERC) in Ukraine and funded by the Directorate-General for Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid in Europe (DG ECHO), the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Bureau for Humanitarian Aid (BHA/USAID) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Estonia.
The financial assistance is aimed at launching or restoring economic activities in the following areas: livestock, crop production, beekeeping, gardening, food preparation, service provision, tailoring or repair of clothing, crafts, etc.
Households in the communities can apply for the programme:
- Dnipropetrovska oblast: Synelnyky district, Pokrovska and Vasylkivska communities.
- Donetsk region: Pokrovskyi rayon, Dobropillia community.
- Zaporizhzhia region: Zaporizhzhia rayon, Vilnyanska and Bilenkivska hromadas.
- Kirovohrad region.
- Mykolaiv region: Mykolaiv rayon, Shevchenkivska and Olshanska hromadas.
- Poltava region: Kremenchuk rayon, Kremenchuk community and Myrhorod rayon, Myrhorod community.
- Kharkiv region: Chuhuiv rayon, Zmiivska and Novopokrovska communities, as well as Izium rayon, Barvinkivska and Slobozhanska communities.
- Cherkasy region.
Selected households will be able to receive a grant of UAH 26,000 to 36,000 to purchase goods and services that should be used to scale up production and/or generate profit.
