Oleksiy Ryabykin, Deputy Minister of Communities and Territories Development, chaired the first meeting of the expert working group that reviews draft regional development strategies until 2027 and plans for their implementation. At the first meeting, the expert group reviewed the development strategies of the Chernivtsi, Rivne, Zhytomyr and Kyiv Oblasts. The strategy of the Chernivtsi Oblast was approved, and the projects for the Zhytomyr and Rivne Oblasts were recommended for approval after revisions. The Kyiv region’s strategy was not supported and the regional administration was recommended to revise it.
The expert working group will continue its activities in the format of further meetings, during which the strategies of all regions and action plans for their implementation will be considered. Once finalised and agreed, all strategies must be approved by the relevant regional councils.
