It amounts to 110 million kroons ($10.3 million). The decision was published in a press release on the Government’s website.
The funds will be used to help the war-affected population get through the winter. In particular, to provide heat and electricity, as well as food, hygiene products, medicines, water, etc.
The funding was distributed among four humanitarian organizations in Ukraine:
– 50 million kronor ($4.7 million) to the Ukrainian Red Cross to provide the affected population with heating, food and shelter;
– 20 million kronor ($1.8 million) to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees to support displaced people before and during the winter period;
– 30 million kronor (2.8 million dollars) to the United Nations Development Program for the demining of agricultural land;
– 10 million kronor ($940 thousand) to the United Nations Population Fund to support victims of violence and restore the health care system.
