Law on housing inventory for IDPs adopted

On Wednesday, November 20, the Verkhovna Rada adopted in its entirety draft law No. 11281 on ensuring the housing rights of internally displaced persons.

The document provides for an all-Ukrainian inventory of state-owned, municipal and, with the owner’s consent, private real estate that can be used to provide IDPs with housing.

The data obtained will form the basis of an information base of habitable housing in the form of a public interactive map.

The database will contain information on the technical condition of the housing and its photos, as well as the number of places to live, the amount of potential investment to bring it into a habitable condition.

Using this map, IDPs will be able to choose the object where they would like to live. And the authorities will be able to communicate with international organizations to carry out the necessary repairs to a particular facility and put it into operation.

It is worth noting that the provisions of this draft law have been repeatedly discussed during special meetings organized by the Ministry of Reintegration to address issues related to the housing rights of internally displaced persons.
