The event was chaired by Vice Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk. The participants discussed the development of the Government’s Strategy for IDP Housing for 2025-2030.
In particular, it was discussed that a systematic audit of the housing stock is needed to address this issue comprehensively. This will help to identify state-owned property located in the respective regions that may be suitable for temporary accommodation of displaced persons.
Following the meeting, the Vice Prime Minister instructed the State Property Fund to prepare a list of dormitories in the regions and provide the list to central executive authorities (balance holders) and local authorities. They should then jointly analyse the facilities and determine which ones can be transferred to communal ownership.
In addition, working groups have been instructed to set up within the Civilian Support Coordination Centres under the JMA to deal with these issues.
