Since June 2022, the Ministry of Reintegration’s hotline 1548 has processed more than 850,000 appeals from Ukrainians.
Most often, citizens applied for evacuation from the areas of active hostilities, emergency assistance for IDPs, cash payments and humanitarian aid.
Ukrainians who wanted to leave the temporarily occupied territories also called 1548.
The hotline operators responded not only to requests directly to the Ministry of Reintegration, but also processed and forwarded requests to other authorities and humanitarian organisations.
Recently, 1548 operators received additional training from USAID. The agency also provided the call centre with technical equipment for uninterrupted 24/7 operation.
Currently, 36 operators work on the round-the-clock hotline. Each of them receives up to 150 calls a day.
Vice Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk stressed the importance of the 1548 hotline.
“From the very beginning of the full-scale war, the 1548 hotline has become an important tool for humanitarian crisis response. Direct communication allows us to respond to humanitarian problems faster and more accurately. It also gives people confidence that they are not alone with their problems,” the Vice Prime Minister said.
