Mykolaiv region generates good practices for employing IDPs

This was discussed at a meeting on IDP employment chaired by Vice Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk.

The Mykolaiv Regional Civil Aviation Authority is actively cooperating with international organisations to implement projects that will help IDPs get training and find jobs in the future.

One of them is the project “WE ACT II: Acting for Women and Their Opportunities,” which involves opening women’s employment centres and providing vocational training for women from vulnerable groups. It has already trained 150 vulnerable women.

The project “Promoting Employment of Internally Displaced Persons from Kherson Region” is also being actively implemented. It includes two areas: retraining and grants for starting or developing a business.

The project “Support for the Protection, Restoration and Recovery of Livelihoods of the Disadvantaged” will provide assistance with employment, training and retraining of IDPs and confirmation of qualifications. The project already involves 200 IDPs.

“Mykolaiv region has developed good practices for employing internally displaced persons. The OVA coordinates well between the authorities, the public and international organisations. Other regions should adopt these practices,” the Vice Prime Minister said.
