Families from vulnerable categories who have to evacuate from frontline communities in Kharkiv and Sumy regions will receive a one-time payment of UAH 10,800 per person.
The initiative was introduced by the Government jointly with UNICEF, the Government portal reports.
The payments will be made to families with children who are subject to mandatory evacuation from the territories of Sumy and Kharkiv regions from 1 May 2024, and who lived in these regions before the evacuation and belonged to one or more of the following categories
- the family includes a person or child with a disability under the age of 18;
- the family is large with children under the age of 18;
- children are raised by a single mother or single father;
- a family with children under the age of 18 is low-income.
Important! In the event of evacuation by means organised by the regional military administration, payments will be made automatically. If the family moves to a safe place on their own as part of the mandatory evacuation, they must contact the nearest social protection department in the community to which they have moved and apply for the appropriate assistance.
This one-time financial assistance will be transferred to the account of one of the family members. Alternatively, the money can be received through Ukrposhta.
