Recently, the Cabinet of Ministers adopted a resolution ‘On Approval of the Procedure for Providing One-time Financial Assistance to the Population during the Heating Season 2024/25 for the Purchase of Solid Household Furnace Fuel’.
According to the Procedure, the financial assistance for heating is primarily available to residents living within a 10-kilometre zone from the state border with Russia or the contact line.
These are the communities of Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson, Luhansk, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovs’k, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv and Chernihiv regions.
The amount of assistance is UAH 21,000 per household for the entire heating season of 2024-2025.
The heating assistance programme is being implemented with the financial support of international organisations, including UNHCR. A total of UAH 1.2 billion has been earmarked for this humanitarian project.
