These funds will be used for reconstruction projects in Ukraine over the next 4 years, the Government Portal reports.
This was agreed upon during a meeting between Oleksiy Kuleba, Vice Prime Minister for Reconstruction of Ukraine and Minister of Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine, and Felix Baumann, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Switzerland to Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova.
One billion dollars of the total amount will be allocated to the self-governance, demining and humanitarian aid sectors. The rest of the amount will be spent on recovery programs involving the Swiss private sector.
A private sector delegation is currently working in Kyiv to familiarize itself with the relevant needs of Ukraine in the medium and long term.
It is noted that the assistance of Swiss partners will help create new jobs in the regions.
