A regular meeting on international humanitarian support for vulnerable populations in the frontline areas was held under the chairmanship of Iryna Vereshchuk, Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine.

The event was attended by the Ministry of Reintegration, the UN Shelter and Non-Food Item Cluster in Ukraine, the ICRC, UNHCR, IOM, URCS, UNICEF, CARITAS, OCHA, and regional military administrations.

The participants reviewed the status of implementation of the government resolution to provide one-time financial assistance to the population during the 2024/25 heating season for the purchase of solid household heating fuel. This includes residents of Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro, Kherson and Mykolaiv regions.

UNHCR is planning to start making payments by the end of October. More than 20,000 households that have been identified should receive them.

In addition, the participants discussed the current status of solid fuel supplies from the International Committee of the Red Cross and the UN Shelter and Non-Food Item Cluster.
