Ukraine is planning to create more than 5,500 new places for internally displaced persons in about 200 temporary accommodation centers (TACs) in the near future.
This was announced at a meeting on IDPs chaired by Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Iryna Vereshchuk.
A certain number of places for people with limited mobility will be provided in the existing TACs. In particular, in Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovs’k, Zaporizhzhia, Kirovohrad, Poltava, Cherkasy, Vinnytsia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv, Ternopil, Zakarpattia, Rivne and Volyn regions.
The Ukrainian Humanitarian Fund will finance the provision of furniture for the arrangement of rooms and common spaces, as well as minor repairs, if necessary.
The project will be implemented by the following organizations: NGO “Proliska”, CF “Rokada”, CF “Right to Protection”, NGO “Tenth of April”, CF “Smile UA”, CF “Vostok SOS”.
It is expected that the new places for temporary residence of IDPs will be arranged in December this year.
