A new service has been launched in the capital — the chatbot eOpora, initiated by the Kyiv City Military Administration. The service was created to help people whose homes have been damaged by the war, as well as those who have been forced to leave their homes and find shelter in the capital.
The Ministry of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine supported this important step and joined the further integration of the service into the national platform єОпора, which is currently under development.
‘Don’t be alone with the consequences of war crimes! You have єОпора’ — these are the words that users see when they first open the chatbot.
As emphasised by the Deputy Prime Minister for the Restoration of Ukraine – Minister of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine Oleksiy Kuleba, it is important that at a critical moment, people can instantly obtain important contacts, step-by-step algorithms for action and quickly orient themselves in a complex situation.
“Kyiv has repeatedly been under combined Russian attacks. At critical moments, when people feel confused and vulnerable, it is important to have timely and broad support. Our task is to ensure that no one is left alone with their problems and has maximum access to vital information.
It is important to scale up effective and proven practices, so our future plans are to expand the service to other regions of Ukraine,” said Oleksiy Kuleba.
eOpora is an open platform and convenient navigator that brings together government and non-governmental initiatives, international organisations, and charitable foundations. Everything you need is gathered in one place to make it easier for people to find their way around and get help.
What does the eOpora chatbot offer?
- step-by-step instructions for actions in emergency situations, in particular during enemy attacks;
- contact details of district headquarters that are deployed after shelling;
- information about state programmes, in particular e-Restoration, as well as support from the city of Kyiv and international funds;
- contact details of organisations that provide free legal and psychological assistance;
- advice and reference information for the adaptation of internally displaced persons in the capital.
The Kyiv City Military Administration is confident that the chatbot will be useful not only immediately after an attack. It will help Kyiv residents and those who have found refuge in the capital to better navigate the support system and more easily overcome everyday challenges.
