The Ministry of Social Policy is expanding housing solutions for internally displaced persons (IDPs) and evacuees

Currently, the Ministry of Social Policy is implementing a pilot project under which communities will be able to purchase homes in rural areas and, if necessary, carry out minor repairs there to provide temporary, free housing for IDPs.

At the same time, it is important that such housing be accessible to older adults and people with limited mobility. Therefore, the housing must meet people’s needs and feature barrier-free spaces.

To help communities implement this project, the Ministry of Social Policy has established a working group. It will assist with organizational and legal issues.

This was stated by Tetyana Kirienko, Deputy Minister of Social Policy, Family, and Unity, during a meeting of the Section of the Association of Ukrainian Cities on the Development of De-occupied and Temporarily Occupied Communities.
