Transit points for evacuees open in Dnipropetrovs’k region

There are two transit points for people evacuating from Donetsk region in Dnipropetrovska oblast. They are currently operating in Pavlohrad and Dnipro.

The activity of the centers was reported at a meeting of the Coordination Headquarters for the mandatory evacuation of the population under martial law.

Since the opening of the transit shelter in Pavlohrad in August this year, it has been providing temporary shelter for up to 3 days, with the opportunity to stay overnight until the next flight or until the final evacuation point is determined.

At this transit point, evacuees are provided with:

– hot meals;

– humanitarian, psychological and medical assistance;

– preparation of necessary documents;

– organization of transportation to a new place of residence (if the evacuation train does not run to the desired station, representatives of the CO “CF ‘East SOS’ provide the purchase of tickets).

Evacuees are also registered for financial assistance in the amount of UAH 10,800 from the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC).

In total, 22 volunteer and charitable organizations are involved in the evacuation process.

The transit center in Dnipro was opened on November 1, 2024. It receives evacuees, providing them with hygiene kits and lunch boxes. If necessary, social support, legal and other assistance is provided.

At this transit point, evacuees can receive:

– food;

– temporary shelter for up to 3 days;

– assistance with paperwork and purchasing tickets for further travel;

– assistance in finding a place of long-term residence.

With the support of the Cluster for the Management and Coordination of Collective Centers (CCCC), 50 places have been set up to accommodate evacuees from Donetsk Oblast.

The transit center is also staffed by representatives of the Department of Social Protection of the Population of Dnipropetrovska Regional State Administration and the NGO “Pluriton”.
