The team of the Ministry of Development and the Agency checked the progress of construction works in Borodyanka, inspected the reconstruction sites and talked to the residents.

The Vice Prime Minister for Reconstruction – Minister of Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine together with Serhiy Sukhomlyn, Head of the State Agency for Reconstruction and Development of Infrastructure of Ukraine, Kostyantyn Kovalchuk, Deputy Minister, and Mykola Boyko, First Deputy Head of the Agency, visited the village of Borodyanka. The settlement was one of the most affected in the Kyiv region by Russian shelling during the occupation in 2022.

The team of the Ministry of Development and the Agency checked the progress of construction works, inspected the reconstruction sites and talked to residents. In Borodyanka, the Agency is working on 20 multi-storey buildings. Administrative buildings, a school and a cultural centre are also being restored.

For example, at 2 Parkova Street, one of the buildings undergoing renovation, the facade is already being insulated and new communications are being installed. The design phase is also nearing completion at some of the facilities.
‘Almost three years ago, Borodianka was destroyed by Russian strikes. For three years, people have been waiting to return home. The work is ongoing, the restoration is underway. However, this is not enough. The pace of reconstruction does not meet people’s needs. I have given a clear task to speed up the work. By autumn 2025, people should be able to move back into their homes. Recovery is not just about construction processes. It is about returning people to normal life,’ said Oleksiy Kuleba.
The Minister also stressed that during the reconstruction it is important to memorialise the places where the worst crimes took place.
