The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has decided to provide an additional subsidy from the state budget in the amount of about 1.6 billion hryvnias to support frontline regions.
The subsidy allows communities to quickly solve the most pressing problems on the ground. This time, the decision on where to direct the resource will be made independently by local governments, based on current needs. For example, for security measures or the stable passage of the heating season.
“Frontline regions are under fire from the Russian Federation every day. We must provide tools for local authorities to address urgent issues “here and now”: repair the damaged, build protective structures and ensure the work of utility workers. We are doing everything so that people feel supported and can get through this difficult time,” said Oleksiy Kuleba, Deputy Prime Minister for the Reconstruction of Ukraine – Minister of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine.
