Connections in frontline regions: a meeting of the competition committee was held

On January 5, 2026, a meeting of the competition committee for the organization and conduct of the competition for passenger transportation on interregional bus routes for public use was held. This concerns the consideration of applications for route service that were submitted through the electronic office by carriers.

More than 30 routes were submitted for the current digital competition. The vast majority are routes that provide connections with front-line regions. Due to the full-scale war, the mobility of citizens has changed significantly, and the need for stable and regular transport connections in these regions remains critically important.

“For front-line regions, bus service is often the only way to get to regional centers, hospitals, work, or evacuation sites. That is why it is fundamentally important for us that competitions for such routes are held quickly, transparently, and without unnecessary bureaucracy. The digital format allows us to make decisions within clear deadlines and provide communities with the necessary transport connections even in wartime,” emphasized Serhiy Derkach, Deputy Minister of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine.

As part of the competition, carriers submitted applications for 17 routes.

All proposals from carriers were submitted electronically through the Unified Complex of Information Systems of Ukrtransbezpeka, which ensures transparency, uniformity and openness of the competition procedure.

Thanks to the clear and transparent form of submitting applications through the electronic office, the work of the competition committee, whose activities are provided for by law, was significantly simplified. Thus, the meeting lasted about 20 minutes.

The electronic competition is part of the reform of domestic bus transportation and the introduction of digital tools in the field of passenger transport. Its goal is to provide passengers with stable, safe and legal transport connections, as well as create equal and transparent conditions for the work of carriers. The peculiarity of such a procedure is also that the entire process takes a certain and fast time. Thus, the submission of applications for the aforementioned competition lasted until December 19, 2025, and the consideration of applications already took place on January 5.
