Highlights for the week of August 19 – August 25

Vice Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk paid a working visit to the Kirovohrad region.

In Kropyvnytskyi, the Vice Prime Minister took part in an offsite meeting of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities under the President of Ukraine, chaired by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. She also visited the Krop:hub Kropyvnytskyi veterans’ space and held an expanded meeting of the IDP Council at the Kirovohrad Regional Military Administration.

Employees of the culture and information sector will be able to join the personnel reserve for work in the de-occupied territories (DOT) – the Government’s decision. The draft law was developed pursuant to the order of Iryna Vereshchuk following the meetings of the Coordination Center for the Temporarily Occupied Territories chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister.

An analysis of the implementation of the State Policy Strategy on Internal Displacement for the period up to 2025 was presented in Kyiv.

Children with their parents or other legal representatives are being forcibly evacuated from certain areas of Donetsk region. This decision was agreed at a meeting of the Coordination Headquarters for the mandatory evacuation of the population under martial law chaired by Vice Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk.

The Ministry of Reintegration has allocated almost UAH 22 million to regional budgets for compensation for IDPs.

The Ministry of Reintegration and the UNHCR signed a Memorandum of Support for Frontline Communities during the Winter Period. The program budget is USD 30 million.
