Housing for IDPs in rural areas will be selected based on the needs of each specific family.
This was stated by Tetyana Kirienko, Deputy Minister of Social Policy, Family, and Unity, during a meeting with partners dedicated to the implementation of a pilot project to provide IDPs with temporary housing.
Using funds from a state subsidy, local communities can purchase ready-to-move-in homes in rural areas. These homes then become municipal property and are transferred to IDP families for temporary use.
Currently, regional state administrations continue to submit proposals regarding potential housing recipients. Partner organizations and IDP councils will join the effort: they will help identify people’s needs, inspect homes, and provide counseling.
