Housing for IDP families will be selected based on their actual needs

Housing for IDP families will be selected based on their actual needs—this is the principle underlying a pilot project to provide housing for people in rural areas.
The Ministry of Social Policy continues to work with communities that have already joined the project and is helping new communities join it. Ministry experts provide advice and guidance at various stages—from finding potential housing to preparing it for the family to move in.
How communities can use this tool was discussed during a webinar organized by the All-Ukrainian Association of Local Self-Government Bodies “Association of Amalgamated Territorial Communities.”
“If a community already has a potential property but has not yet selected a family or has questions about implementing the program, we are ready to work together to find solutions. It is important to make the most of this tool’s capabilities so that more IDP families can obtain housing and communities have additional opportunities for development,” said Tetyana Kirienko, Deputy Minister of Social Policy, Family, and Unity.
The project pays special attention to the accessibility of homes for older adults and people with limited mobility.
