Cash assistance during evacuation: almost 74 thousand Ukrainians received payments from UNICEF

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) continues to provide one-time emergency cash assistance to families with children who have moved to safer areas from communities where mandatory evacuation has been announced.

Thus, 22,550 households have already received payments of UAH 10,800 for each family member (up to 5 people, including up to 2 adults). About 74,000 people, including almost 38,000 children, have been covered.

Assistance is provided to evacuated families with children who meet one or more of the following vulnerability criteria

  • the family includes a person or child with a disability under the age of 18;
  • the family is large with children under 18 years of age;
  • children are raised by a single mother/lone father;
  • the family with children under the age of 18 is low-income.

Evacuated families with children should contact the social protection authority in the community to which they have moved for questions about payments and to submit relevant applications.
