46 children are being evacuated from four settlements in the Kherson region

The Coordination Headquarters for Evacuation Operations has decided to carry out the mandatory evacuation of 46 children, along with their parents or legal guardians, from four settlements in the Stanislav and Kherson communities.

The decision was made during a meeting of the headquarters chaired by Oleksiy Ryabikin, Deputy Minister of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine, due to the complex security situation in the region and the proximity of these territories to the zone of active hostilities.

“We have decided on the mandatory evacuation of children, along with their parents or legal guardians, from settlements where the security situation remains complex. This is primarily about people’s lives and safety,” said Oleksiy Ryabikin.

According to preliminary data, some families with children plan to relocate to safer areas within the Kherson region, as well as to Mykolaiv and Odesa. Additionally, preliminary agreements have been reached regarding the potential relocation of families to Kryvyi Rih, as well as to the Poltava, Kirovohrad, Volyn, Vinnytsia, and Odesa regions.

Since June 1, 2025, more than 178,000 people have been evacuated from frontline areas of Ukraine to safer regions, including over 23,000 children and more than 6,000 people with limited mobility.

To support evacuees, 14 transit centers are operating in Ukraine, where people receive humanitarian, medical, psychological, legal, and social assistance, as well as help with document restoration and applying for social benefits.

Evacuation efforts are carried out in cooperation with the State Emergency Service, the National Police, local communities, volunteers, and international partners. Specialized units—the State Emergency Service’s “Phoenix” and the National Police’s “White Angel” teams—are operating in frontline areas, equipped with armored vehicles and equipment for transporting people.

Citizens with limited mobility are immediately transported to medical and specialized facilities after evacuation. This work is coordinated by the Ministry of Social Policy, Family, and Unity in collaboration with local communities.
