Oleksiy Kuleba met with hromada leaders of Kherson Oblast

Oleksiy Kuleba, Vice Prime Minister for Recovery and Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine, met with community leaders of the Kherson Oblast during his working visit to the southern regions of Ukraine. The discussion focused on the security situation, economy and social sphere.

‘Kherson region requires a special approach. It needs adapted regulations, new approaches in regional policy, recovery processes, housing and communal services, and work with internally displaced persons. I am also grateful to the communities for their participation in the ‘Side by Side: Cohesive Communities’ project. This initiative was launched in Kherson region and today it has been scaled up to all frontline regions,’ said Oleksiy Kuleba.

Special attention was paid to security issues, completion of social facilities, construction of defence structures, establishment of security centres, preservation of human resources, determination of the status of military administrations and repair of military logistics roads.

They also discussed the heating season. Kherson region was the first in Ukraine to complete the heating season despite the difficult military circumstances. At the same time, preparations for the next one require new technological solutions and should start now, said Oleksiy Kuleba.

According to the Minister, the development of distributed generation is important. As of today, the plans are to install four more thermal power plants in the region.
