From the beginning of May, an evacuation train from Donetsk region will arrive in Volyn

The readiness of Volyn Oblast to host evacuated residents of Donetsk Oblast was discussed during a meeting of the Coordination Headquarters for the mandatory evacuation of the population under martial law. The event was chaired by Vice Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk.

Volyn Oblast is replacing Rivne Oblast in hosting the evacuated population of Donetsk Oblast.

Starting from 2 May this year, Volyn will receive evacuation trains from Pokrovsk. The train will run once every eight days. The approximate dates of train departure from Pokrovsk station are 2, 5, 10, 18 and 26 May.

The Volyn Regional Military Administration has prepared about 500 places to accommodate Donetsk residents who plan to evacuate from the dangerous areas of the region.

The following social guarantees are provided for the evacuees

  • free accommodation in places of compact residence in Volyn;
  • state housing allowance for internally displaced persons;
  • a one-time payment to the evacuated civilian population;
  • humanitarian, psychological and medical assistance, etc.
