Reconstruction of houses destroyed as a result of hostilities continues as part of the project ‘Improvement of living conditions of IDPs’

The status of the international technical assistance project was discussed at a meeting chaired by Vice Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk.

The project ‘Improvement of Housing Conditions of IDPs in Eastern Ukraine’ provides for the reconstruction of houses destroyed as a result of hostilities and the construction of new houses in Kyiv, Vinnytsia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv and Chernivtsi regions.

It is being implemented with the financial support of the German Government through the KfW and with the assistance of the Ministry of Reintegration. The project is implemented by the International Organization for Migration (IOM).

Thus, in Irpin, Kyiv region, the facade works at one of the facilities have already been completed by 60%. They are expected to be completed by 30 June. The next step is to repair apartments and networks. And by the end of the year, we plan to complete the work on the site.

The first phase of construction at the second site is also scheduled to be completed, including facade and roofing works. Another house in Irpin will be built from scratch.

During the meeting, the participants also discussed the status of construction and related processes in the other 4 oblasts where the project is being implemented.
