The second All-Ukrainian Forum of IDP Councils took place in Kyiv. Vice Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk delivered a welcoming speech and took part in a panel discussion. The government has allocated over UAH 21 million more for compensation for free accommodation of IDPs in institutions. These are funds reimbursed by the state to state-owned, municipal and private facilities for utilities consumed during the stay of IDPs in these facilities.
The Government has expanded the composition of the Interagency Commission on the Application and Implementation of International Humanitarian Law in Ukraine. It is headed by Vice Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk. The Ministry of Reintegration is responsible for the formation and implementation of state policy in this area.
The Coordination Headquarters, chaired by Vice Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk, supported the decision to expand the zone of forced evacuation of families with children in Donetsk Oblast due to the security situation.
At the meeting chaired by Vice Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk, the Strategy of State Policy on Ensuring Housing Rights of IDPs in Ukraine for the period up to 2027 was presented.
During a working visit to Kyiv region, Deputy Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk checked the process of rebuilding houses as part of a project to improve the living conditions of IDPs. Together with representatives of the Kyiv AUC, local authorities and international donors, they inspected the facilities. In Irpin, the Deputy Prime Minister held an offsite meeting on this issue.
The Cabinet of Ministers has extended state aid payments for the most vulnerable categories of IDPs. The draft act was developed following the meetings of the Coordination Center for IDPs chaired by Vice Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk. It will provide state support to the most vulnerable categories of internally displaced persons.
The Government’s decision improved the procedure for preferential mortgage lending under the Housing for IDPs program.
Vulnerable households in nine oblasts within a 10-kilometer zone of the state border with Russia or the contact line will receive a one-time payment of UAH 21,000 to purchase solid household fuel, according to a Cabinet of Ministers resolution. A total of UAH 1.2 billion is allocated for this humanitarian project. The program is implemented with the financial support of UNHCR.
