Ukrainians living in areas of active or potential combat operations will receive additional funds to pay for electricity starting today, 1 October. The assistance will be provided as part of the Frontline Territories Support Programme. The funds will be automatically credited along with subsidies and benefits and calculated at a rate of 100 kWh per person (but not more than 300 kWh per family). This amounts to 432 hryvnia per family member, with a maximum payment of 1,296 hryvnia per household.
“For people in frontline territories, every extra hryvnia counts. We understand that Russian aggression has made living conditions there extremely difficult. As part of the Frontline Regions Support Programme, a system of additional payments for electricity has been launched today. This will help families cover their basic needs — light, heat, and household appliances. We are working to ensure that everyone feels supported in their local communities,” said Deputy Prime Minister for the Restoration of Ukraine and Minister of Community and Territorial Development Oleksiy Kuleba.
There is no need to contact social security authorities or submit applications – payments will be made by the Pension Fund of Ukraine.
People will be able to partially compensate for the cost of electricity needed for basic needs – lighting, heating, use of household appliances or even alternative energy sources.
Families living in frontline regions will receive payments until:
- the family moves out of the dangerous territory;
- they lose their right to subsidies or benefits;
- the status of the territory changes to conditionally safe or temporarily occupied.
The Frontline Territories Support Programme is a comprehensive government initiative that combines the reconstruction of housing, schools, hospitals and critical infrastructure with support for local businesses and direct assistance to people.
We are working to ensure that people have safe living conditions, can plan for the future and have access to quality services – education, healthcare and social support. At the same time, we are developing the local economy to create new job and business opportunities in communities.
